Veranda Studios
I often tell people that we do “custom” design and website development. Explaining and defining what we do is often very challenging, due to companies that advertise websites for a very low cost. As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for.
Here are a couple of key things to consider if you’re looking for a website or branding for your business, and considering hiring an agency – like Martini Creative – to do the work for you:
1) If you need an online presence sooner than later and have a low budget for start-up, it might be your best option to use a company that offers website packages/pre-templated sites. Remember however, there will be monthly fees with this option for using their hosting/platform and a limit on customization. Most have tech support to help when setting up the site.
2) If you have a very specific look you want to achieve as well as functionality, and have a bigger budget, you may want to call a agency that specializes in custom design and development – such as Martini Creative. When I mention look and functionality, I’m referring to how you want your business or organization to look online and the perception of those visiting your site, and what features you want to integrate with the development and can manage (i.e. eCommerce, event management system, mobile readiness, etc.). An agency will take care of much of the work for you so you can run your business.
In our latest site, Veranda Studios, there are several features that were custom developed for ease of updating the Blog (Journal) and Photo Gallery. These make updates quick and easy for the photographers/business owners so they can get back to doing what they do best.
Customized work is not cheap, but if you consider the ROI over several years and “doing it right the first time”, then you have solid foundation for years to come and won’t have to pay an agency redo the work.
